Once you have found a suitable property that you wish to buy, you need to make an offer through the estate agent.

It is definitely worth trying to negotiate a lower price on the property. Remember, most sellers expect this to happen and build this in to the original asking price, so do not be afraid to make an offer.

As a first time buyer you have a strong negotiating position and you should make this clear to the estate agent handling the negotiations.
